Hi! I’m Chris

Interdisciplinary Strategist, Storyteller, and Sustainability Advocate

I’m a British-American strategist and storyteller with a passion for sustainability and impact-driven solutions. My work bridges sectors, from sustainability to the arts, policy, advocacy, and higher education, addressing complex challenges through innovative, principle-led design and collaboration.

I was raised and educated in rural Herefordshire before attending NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the London Interdisciplinary School where I graduated top of my class with a 1st class BASc in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods. During my time at LIS I became the first recipient of the William Morris Award in recognition of academic excellence.

At LIS I fostered my natural strengths in conceptual problem-solving and synthesis. Problem mapping, systems thinking, and principle-led design now form the foundation of my practice which centres solutions that are dynamic, context sensitive and engage rather than ignore complexity.

I’m driven by taking on new challenges and am known for enabling diverse teams to coalesce and succeed. Throughout my career my priority has remained fostering knowledgeable, confident, and motivated teams who feel empowered to leverage their abilities to achieve impact. Collaboration is a core value and informs my bottom-up approach to leadership and strategy.

I’m fortunate to have experienced several trajectories and influences in my (as of yet) short career. Filmmaking was my first passion, leading to freelance work in my teens and culminating in my acceptance to study at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2018. After realising I wanted to pursue a broader range of interests I spent a year working under Revel Guest Albert, OBE, filmmaker and Chair Emeritus of the Hay Literary Festival, who instilled in me an appreciation for fostering dialogue around significant ideas. This has guided my pursuits since, leading to roles in the arts, advocacy and most recently my interdisciplinary education at LIS.

I’m most passionate about one of the greatest challenges we face: our relationship with our planet. In my time both at and post LIS, I’ve made sustainability—in policy, education, and communication—a central focus of my work. This has led me to participate in sustainability research, contribute to organisations progressing complex problem solving in conservation, and advocating for better sustainability policy at local and international levels.

Bringing together different perspectives has always been a priority for me and I put great emphasis in both my personal and professional life on active listening, open communication and fostering dialogue to facilitate meaningful collaboration. I believe these principles form better working environments and foster more responsible practice.
